Junior Red Cross

Junior Red Cross:

The Junior Red Cross is a school student’s group. It is a group movement organized within the school. The teacher is the recognized leader and is known as the Counsellor and the pupils are known as members of Junior Red Cross group. The Junior Red Cross is organized to inculcate service, to care for their own health and that of others, to understand the civic responsibilities, to cultivate a spirit of friendly helpfulness among children and to disseminate the Red Cross message with a selfless motive.

This has been designed to make the young people involved in the activities, not only as workers but also beneficiaries, and partners in management. The program focuses on the following areas:

  • Promoting healthy living through training and education.
  • Encouraging community service.
  • Disseminating the seven fundamental principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement through activities that encourage the Red Cross ideals

Eligibility : 6th to 9th Standard - Only Girls.

      

Activities: 

*  Visit to Neyam Special School for mentally retarded. Location: No. 12/209, a. Kuttaiyur Karamadai, CBE-641104.
* Cleaning Activity - GH Campus, Perianaickenpalayam.
* Visit to Old Age Homes.
* Planting saplings.
* Organizing Social Awareness Programmes and Camps at various Zones
